Well, I know I haven't informed you about this before, but I guessed you would agree on having this day, too.
(because, remembering the words is much more important than posting the words!)

So here we go. You don't need to post for today. : )

Oh, by the way - I'm sorry about the changing formats... I just thought I might give some change so as to make it interesting.
The paragraph thing for yesterday was just out of whim... and, for now I think my default will be:

1. Ordinary Words (which will most likely be synonyms): 3
2. Confusing Words (which will be one pair per day, meaning two words): 2
3. And maybe a root word thing, if I feel like the vocab for the day is easier than the other days.

You can adopt any style of posting you want,
and if you have any concerns regarding the format above, tell me so I can modify it : )

First look at the words. See if you know the meaning. If you don't, then refer to the definitions.

Abase and Debase
Abase: to humiliate, degrade; The teacher was enraged when her student abased her teaching abilities.
Debase: to lower the quality or value of; The wish for popularity debased her good cause for charity.

Abrogate and Arrogate
Abrogate: to abolish by authority; The legislature abrogated abortion.
Arrogate: to take a power or position w/o the right to it; The principal arrogated himself with the power to expel anyone he hated.

Adverse and Averse
Adverse: unfavorable; The adverse winds stopped our car from reaching home.
Averse: to have strong hatred towards; I am averse towards bull dogs; I have a bad memory of being bitten by one.

Chary, Circumspect, Discreet, Heedful, and Leery
Chary: wary towards danger; He's chary of slipping on the stairs.
Circumspect: thoughtful and chary in action; She's circumspect when making important decisions.
Discreet: circumspect (not telling secrets, etc.); Louis was discreet about the secret birthday party.
Heedful: careful and attentive; Julia is always heedful and checks her actions to make sure she hasn't offended anyone.
Leery: wary due to suspicion; Although I continuously told her that I was a student, she look at me with leery eyes and didn't let me into the school.

Voc/Voke/Vow
Definition: To Call
Avocation: main occupation
Vocation: hobby
Invoke: to call on a deity or authority
Convoke: to call for a convention or meeting
