1. Neophyte
(n.) a person who is new to subject, skill, or belief
- The neophyte just started going through the steps of creating pottery.

2. Uninitiated
(adj.) without special knowledge or experience
- The professor, uninitiated in education and young, didn't know how to deliver the information to us effectively.

3. Initiate
(v.) introduce someone to particular activity or skill
- Siddhartha initated Chun Yi the skills of a true Kung Fu ascetic.


Apologia vs. Apologue
Apologia: a formal defense or justification
- The company posted its public apologia for its new policy regarding new employees that had been rousing much controversy.
Apologue: a moral fable
- Aesop's fables are probably the most renowned apologues read by children.



Confusing words: sympathy VS empathy
Sympathy=Sympathy is usually the sharing of unhappiness or suffering, but it can also refer to sharing other (positive) emotions as well.

Empathy= understanding others feelings and caring about the way they are feeling, Putting your self in anothers shoes.

So, for example, if you are a parent who lost a child, then I can only sympathize. HOWEVER, my friend, who also lost a child, can empathize.

*then next question... can my friend sympathize??? (i'll ask Mr. Stephens...)
